10, Downing Street awaits Keir Starmer as Labour Party wins UK’s general elections, Rishi Sunak tenders resignation

London, 05 July: The Labour Party leader Keir Starmer expressed happiness over his party’s landslide victory in Britain?s general assembly. The party has already won 352 seats, more than 326 in the 650-member Parliament required for a majority. The Rishi Sunak-led Conservative Party could win only 74 seats so far.

Rishi Sunak has conceded and announced his resignation. He also congratulated Starmer through his X handle. Starmer is poised to become the next British Prime Minister.

Defence Minister Grant Shapps lost the election to Andrew Levin of the Labour Party from the Welvin Hatfield constituency.

Keir Starmer, the president of the Labour Party who registered a historic victory in the UK general election, spent some time in poverty. Even his education was borne by someone else. Keir Starmer has said that he will also work for those who have not voted for him. He said, “I will work for the interests of every person.” Starmer told the voters, “I will speak for you. It is worth mentioning that before becoming the leader of the opposition, Keir Starmer was a lawyer in England and Wales between 2008 and 2013. Keir Starmer has been the leader of the opposition for four years and is credited with bringing his Labour Party from the leftist trend to the middle path politically. Starmer’s parliamentary constituency since 2015 is Hobborn and St Pancras. Starmer describes himself as coming from a working class background.

In 2008, Keir was elected Director of Public Prosecutions. This is the most senior position of criminal prosecutor in England and Wales. In 2015, he became an MP from Hoburne and St Pancras in North London. He previously worked in the frontbench team of Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn as his Brexit secretary. Brexit was the process of separating Britain from the European Union. Keir Starmer became party president in 2020 after the party’s massive defeat in the 2019 general election. After being elected president, he said that he would take Labour “into a new era with faith and hope.” … and he did so.
