594 km long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj is proposed.
Lucknow, 08 January: So far, 11 companies in the country and abroad have shown interest in constructing the proposed 594 km long Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. The foundation stone of the Uttar Pradesh state’s largest expressway will be done in the month of June.
A meeting of the Tender Evaluation Committee for the construction of the Ganga Expressway was held on Friday under the chairmanship of UPDA’s Chief Executive Officer Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Additional Chief Secretary of Industrial Development Department Alok Kumar.
During this period, the Expression of Interest (EOI) proposals of 11 companies were received. It has two companies from Malaysia and South Korea.
Awasthi said that the Ganga Expressway will be built in the PPP model. He said that this expressway will start from Meerut and will pass through Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Bandayun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj.
He said that its estimated cost would be Rs 36410 crore.
