New Delhi, 15 November: According to the provisional payroll data released by the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Wednesday, in the month of September, 22,544 new establishments were registered and brought under the social security umbrella of the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Corporation.
In the month of September 2023 itself, 18.88 lakh new employees were added. During this period, out of total of 18.88 lakh employees, 9.06 lakh employees up to the age group of 25 years were newly registered, which is 47.98 percent of the total number of registered employees.
It is clear from this that more jobs have been created for the youth of the country.
Gender-wise analysis of the data shows that the net enrollment of women members in September 2023 stood at 3.51 lakh.
A total of 61 transgender employees are also registered under the ESI scheme. In this way, an effort has been made to extend the benefits of ESIC to every section of society.
