Lucknow, 24 July: The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested two more accused on Sunday in connection with the “unauthorised” offering of namaz inside a retail center here, bringing the total number of arrests to seven.
Rajesh Kumar Srivastav, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), stated, “Two residents of Lucknow’s Sadatganj neighbourhood were apprehended. The accused were among several who held religious prayers without permission on the mall premises.” The new arrests come only a day after police apprehended a fifth suspect in the case.
The officer stated that attempts are being made to apprehend the other accused in the case. None of those detained are employees of Lulu Mall, which was just inaugurated by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
