Mahakumbh Nagar, 29 January: The Maha Kumbh Mela Adhikari Vijay Kiran Anand and DIG Vaibhav Krishna told in a press conference held in the media center on Wednesday that 30 devotees have died in the stampede that took place on Sangam Nose on Mauni Amavasya out of which 25 devotees have been identified.
More than 50 ambulances started running minute by minute by creating a green corridor

Expert doctors reached the spot within two to three minutes and took charge
Due to the emergency medical services and promptness of the Yogi government, a major accident was averted. More than 50 ambulances reached Sangam Nose within two to three minutes by creating a green corridor to save the people affected in the incident. More than 100 rounds were made by ambulances to save people’s lives.
Along with this, expert doctors reached the spot within two to three minutes and took charge. On this occasion, SDRF, NDRF and police team also remained engaged in helping the injured along with the doctors.
Ambulances were taken to the spot at full speed by creating a green corridor
Nodal medical establishment of Mahakumbh Mela, Dr Gaurav Dubey said that expert doctors showed promptness and treated the injured in Mahakumbh Nagar. Yogi government’s emergency ambulance service played a big role in this. After the accident, ambulances were sent to the accident site at full speed by creating a green corridor. Within just two to three minutes, expert doctors and medical team reached the spot and started first aid.
First aid given at the accident site
Over 50 ambulances sped without stopping and immediately took the injured to the Central Hospital. After giving first aid to the injured at the accident site, the critical patients were taken to the Central Hospital. Where they were treated. After which the patients were sent away. If needed, some patients were shifted to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital or Tej Bahadur Sapru Chikitsalaya (Bailey Hospital).
Ambulances reached every location
Police, SDRF and NDRF teams also assisted in the movement of ambulances for medical assistance. The green corridor helped the ambulances to reach every location within minutes, so that the devotees injured in the accident could be saved. A green corridor was immediately created so that the ambulances could run at full speed amidst the crowd of crores. This contributed significantly in saving people’s lives.
100% medical staff engaged in treatment in the hospital
All shifts of doctors were combined. 100% i.e. more than 1000 medical staff was present in the hospital to treat the injured. All the doctors on morning and evening duty were present in the hospital. Apart from this, a large number of ward boys and nurses were engaged in saving the injured along with the doctors. Doctors from different locations in the entire fair area reached the hospital in just 3 minutes.
