4 children died after eating toxic food in rehabilitation centre in Lucknow

Lucknow, March 27: Four children living in rehabilitation centre of Para area in Lucknow died after eating poisonous food on Tuesday night, while 16 children are in critical condition. They have been admitted in Lok Bandhu hospital. After this incident, panic erupted in the administration.

District Magistrate Visakh G., who reached the hospital, told the journalists that twenty children were sent to Lok Bandhu hospital after their health deteriorated from the rehabilitation centre. Two girls and two boys died in this, while the treatment of other children is going on in the hospital.

District Magistrate said that a committee of Food Safety and Health Department has been formed and sent to rehabilitation centre. There are a total of 147 children in the rehabilitation centre, all of whom are mentally ill. The sick children were sent to the hospital after their health deteriorated. There are seven children in the centre who have health problems. These children are being looked after by the doctors of the committee.

Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob also reached Lokbandhu Hospital. She saw the children and talked to Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajiv Dixit. She said that better treatment has been ordered for the children. All these children fell ill after consuming poisonous food on Tuesday and were hurriedly admitted to Lok Bandhu Hospital. This is a sad incident.
