4 criminals arrested in Lucknow police encounter, 2 injured

Lucknow, 15 April: The Lucknow police of Nigoha police station and Nagaram police station in a joint operation arrested four accused late on Monday night after an encounter. Two accused have been injured by police bullets.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Nipun Agarwal, while giving information on Tuesday, said that the joint police of both the police stations were conducting a vehicle checking campaign. They got information that Jhabu, Baburam, the wanted accused of theft in Nagaram area, along with their two companions, are planning to go from Nigoha to Nagaram Meerkh Nagar Road on a bike to commit some crime.

The police reached the mentioned location to catch them, seeing four persons riding two motorcycles were coming, the police signaled them to stop, the persons, seeing the police team, turned the motorcycle and ran towards Meerak Nagar Road. During chasing them, two of the accused started firing. While defending themselves, the police team also fired in retaliation in which two accused were shot in the leg. The police arrested them and their two companions safely. The injured were immediately sent to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said that the accused Jhabua alias Seth, Baburam, Abhilakh Loniya and Shibbu alias Vikas, residents of Sitapur, have been arrested. Cases under Gangster Act have also been registered against these accused. Two pistols, cartridges and a motorcycle have been recovered from their possession. The police is taking other necessary action against the accused.
