Shahjahanpur, 07 October: The police arrested five accused in the case of uprooting the constructed road of the state highway with JCB due to non-payment of commission. Also, took possession of JCB. However, the main accused Jagveer is still away from the police, said police.

The work of widening and strengthening of Puwayan-Nigohi-Tilhar, Jaitipur-Dataganj road State Highway No. 126 is being done by Gorakhpur firm M/s Shakuntala Singh in Katra assembly constituency of the district. On October 2, angry over not getting the commission, Jagveer, who described himself as the representative of the BJP MLA, came with his fifteen-twenty companions with a JCB machine and sticks. They beat up the employees and uprooted the road from Bankhandi Pulia to Nawada Mor with JCB.

The owner of the firm, Ramesh Singh, had lodged a report against Jagveer Singh and his 15-20 associates at Jaitipur police station.

Due to questions being raised in the matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also taken cognizance of the incident. After receiving strict instructions from the government to take action, the administration and police came into action.

Additional Superintendent of Police City Sanjeev Bajpayee said on Saturday that Jaitipur police arrested Panchu Gangwar and Pawan, residents of Katra police station area and Vinod, Rambaran and Surjeet, residents of Gadhiya Rangi police station area, in the case on Friday night.

He added, along with this, the police arrested JCB machine. Has also been captured and seized. The main accused Jagveer and his other associates are still out of the reach of the police, the police team is engaged in their search.
