5 died, 3 injured in rice mill dryer explosion in Bahraich

Bahraich, 25 April: Five workers lost their lives in an accident in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh this morning when a rice mill dryer exploded. These workers are said to be from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences on the accident. He has instructed the district administration officials to reach the spot and carry out relief work and provide better treatment to the injured.

District Magistrate Monica Rani said that at the time when this accident happened, 8-10 workers were working in the mill. Eyewitness worker Lavkush said that he works in Rajgarhia Rice Mill located in Mohalla Ghulam Alipura of Dargah police station area. Today paddy was being dried, during this time the dryer exploded. When the fire broke out, we all started extinguishing it. Then due to smoke, five workers fell unconscious one by one. They were taken out and taken to the hospital. Doctors declared five people dead. They include Bittu Shah (30) from Bihar, Gaffar Ali, Bablu, Rajnesh Kumar from Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh and Jahur from Shravasti. Three others are being treated at the medical college.

CMS of the district hospital MM Tripathi said that 8 people who fainted due to suffocation were brought to the district hospital. Five of them were dead and three people were referred to the medical college after primary treatment. Three workers from Kannauj and one each from Bihar and Shravasti died in the accident. The DM said that five workers who were working died due to suffocation. At the same time, the treatment of Sukhdev, Devi Prasad and Surendra Shukla is going on in the emergency of the medical college. The administration has started investigation by inspecting the spot.
