5 killed, 8 injured in two road mishaps in Lucknow

Lucknow, January 24: Five people died and eight were injured in two road accidents late Thursday night in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Four people died and seven were seriously injured in a road accident late Thursday night in BBD police station area. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and started investigating the case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) said that a truck hit two cars near Kisan Path in Indiranagar. 11 people were injured in the accident. All were admitted to the hospital for treatment, where four people were declared dead. Police have identified the deceased as van rider Shahjad, resident of Muzaffarnagar, Kiran Yadav (38), wife of Lalta Prasad, resident of Chinhat, Kundan and Himanshu.

DCP East told that at the same time, Rajan, a resident of Shahjahanpur, Tasleem and Shakeel of Bareilly, Intezaar of Rampur, Lale Yadav of Chinhat, Shahrukh of Amroha and Sushil of Kannauj were injured. Police, who arrived at the scene of the incident, cleared all vehicles with the help of a crane and restored traffic. Police informed the families of the deceased about the incident and sent the bodies for post-mortem.

Similarly, Akash Rawat (26), a resident of Auliakheda, Rahimabad, died after being hit by an unknown vehicle near Amrapali Water Park in Malihabad police station area. Rajkumar is seriously injured and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police is investigating the matter.
