Ayodhya, June 17: As part of Agnipath Scheme launched by Government of India in June 2022, 55 Agniveers were attested today at the Dogra Regimental Centre, Ayodhya. In a simple yet elegant ceremony held in the Jem Lala Parade Ground located in the Training Centre, oath to the first batch was administered by ‘Dharam Guru’ of the Regiment.
The epoch attestation ceremony for the Agniveers will remain memorable for all successful Agniveers as their 24 weeks of gruelling training period as per new terms and conditions comes to an end. The ceremony was witnessed by Brigadier KR Singh, YSM, Commandant Dogra Regimental Centre, and other senior officers of Ayodhya Cantonment station.
Starting from 1st January this year, the Agniveers were put through a rigorous training program which included physical training, weapon handling, and tactical training. The attestation ceremony marks culmination of primary training and induction of Agniveers into the folds of Indian Army.
The young Agniveers took oath to serve the nation with pride, dedication, anywhere by Land & Sea or Air and to uphold the rich traditions of the Indian Army.
The event adds yet another feather in the 100 year old Regimental Centre as the first ever Agniveer batch comprising 55 young men get inducted into the Dogra Regiment & Indian Army after attestation. The Dogra Regiment has a rich history of producing brave, audacious and dedicated warriors for Indian Army who have served the nation with Elan.
The attestation ceremony bears testimony to the training Centre’s commitment to train and produce the best soldiers for the Indian Army, informed Samir Gangakhedkar, Group Captain, Public Relations Officer, Ministry of Defence, Prayagraj Region.
