Lucknow, 21 July: The UP government plans to build 5,000 Abhyudaya Composite Schools over the next four years in order to provide excellent education to more students living in remote locations. The project, which would cost Rs 58,000 crore, is being performed in partnership with NABARD and the World Bank.
Existing schools will be updated with new infrastructure as part of the project. This would assure accessibility while also reducing dropouts. While the building of these schools is expected to cost Rs 49,000 crore, the upkeep cost is expected to be Rs 9,000 crore. Aside from that, the state will establish model composite schools.
According to a government release, about 48,000 children in grades 1 through 12 would benefit. These will be set up at cost of Rs 11 crore each. Close to 15 lakh boys and girls from low-income families would have equal possibilities to flourish in model composite schools, according to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
