6 Muslims electrocuted in Bahraich while during Barawafat procession

Bahraich, 9 Oct: Six persons, including five youngsters, were killed and four were injured after coming into touch with a high-tension wire in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, according to authorities. Locals stated the incident happened in Masupur village in the Nanpara region when residents were bringing out Barawafat a procession and an iron rod stored in a cart came into touch with the wire.

According to Ashok Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural), four individuals were killed on the spot and one died while being treated in a hospital. Later, another youngster, Arafat (10), died in the hospital, bringing the total number of deaths in the mishap to six, according to authorities.

According to Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar Choudhary, victims have been indentified as Sufian (12), Ilyas (16), Tabrez (16), Ashraf Ali (30), all from Bhaggadwa in Nanpara, and Shafiq (12) from Malhipur in Shravasti district.

According to the officer, family members of the victims have told police that they do not want the bodies post-mortemed because no one is to blame for the tragedy. Taking notice of the tragedy, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to ensure that those who have been hurt receive sufficient care.
