Lucknow, June 9: Six women were arrested by police after staging a protest outside the Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow on Friday. The six women had travelled from Unnao to protest since their issue had gone unnoticed in Unnao.

Manisha Singh, Additional DCP, Central Zone, stated that the six women had come to protest since their case had gone ignored in Unnao.

Singh went on to say that the women claimed that the opposing party battered them mercilessly during a land measuring case in their village in Swayamwar Kheda under Moraon police station, and that the police did not file a report.

The injured women arrived in Lucknow early Friday morning to stage a protest. “We have spoken with our counterparts in Unnao, and they are looking into the allegations raised by the women,” Singh explained.
