New Delhi, August 19th: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared three big achievements of the government in “Har Ghar Nal Jal” and other areas with the countrymen, saying that India is working on big goals during the “Amrit Kaal” and today we have crossed three milestones related to it. Have taken He said that hard work is not required to form the government, but hard work is required to form the country. We have all chosen the path of making the country, so we are constantly solving the present and future challenges of the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the achievements with the country by virtually addressing the ‘Har Ghar Jal Utsav’ program in Panaji. He stated that 10 crore rural households in the country now have access to piped clean water. This is a big success of the government’s campaign to provide water to every household. He said that Goa has become the first state in the country to have been issued a certificate for providing water to every household. At the same time, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu have also become the first union Territories to get the Har Ghar Jal Certificate.
The Prime Minister said that one achievement is associated with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. More than one lakh villages in different states of the country have become ODF plus. A few years back, the country was declared open defecation free due to the efforts of all the countrymen. After this, we resolved that villages would be made ODF plus. The country has now achieved an important milestone.
The Prime Minister said that the success of the “Jal Jeevan Mission” rests on four strong pillars. The first is public participation, partnership, political will, and better and fuller use of resources. He said that within just 3 years, 7 crore rural households have been connected with piped water under the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’. This is not an ordinary achievement. In 7 decades of independence, the country was able to provide piped water facilities to only 30 million rural households.
He said that after the formation of the new government, we created a separate Jal Shakti Ministry. Three lakh sixty thousand rupees are being spent on this campaign. The biggest pandemic in 100 years caused interruptions, but despite this, the pace of this campaign did not slow down. The country has done more than twice the work that was done in 7 decades in 3 years.
The Prime Minister said that today the big organizations of the world are saying that the biggest challenge of the 21st century will be “water security”. Lack of water can also become a hindrance in the fulfillment of the resolve of a developed India. To deal with this big challenge, there is a need to work 24 hours with a sense of service and duty. His government has been working for “water security” with the same spirit for the last 8 years. Now the number of Ramsar sites, i.e. ‘wetlands’ in India, has also increased to 75. Out of these 50 sites, only 8 have been added in the last 8 years. That is, India is making all-round efforts for water security and results are getting better in every direction.
