Update: Over 6 crore selfies are uploaded on Har Ghar Tiranga’s website

New Delhi, August 16: Over 6 crore selfies were uploaded on the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign website, which ran from August 3?15 in the country. Simultaneously, a Guinness World Record for “picture of the world’s largest human chain waving the national flag” was created in Chandigarh with the participation of 5,885 people.

On Tuesday, union Tourism and Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy said that the whole country has come together to make the Har Ghar Tricolor campaign a success. Such enthusiasm from people from different regions is a symbol of the unwavering spirit of unity and integrity of the nation. He said that the entire country took part in the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan” and more than 6 crore selfies were taken and uploaded with the tricolor.

It is noteworthy that on the occasion of the 75th year of India’s independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to encourage people to bring and hoist the tricolour in every house. The aim of this initiative was to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi with the spirit of public participation. States, union Territories, and Ministries participated in this campaign in a big way with full enthusiasm. NGOs and self-help groups from various places also contributed to making Har Ghar Tricolor a coveted benchmark on the way to the success of Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi.
