Chandigarh, 23 August: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Punjab on Wednesday. This is the first visit of the Prime Minister after the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab. Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital at Mullanpur in Mohali district.
Earlier, on January 5, Modi had visited Punjab to inaugurate development projects in Ferozepur. Due to the farmers’ agitation, his convoy was stopped on the flyover of Pyarayana village in Ferozepur for 15 minutes, due to which the Prime Minister had to return without participating in the program.
Now that the Aam Aadmi Party government has come in Punjab, it is believed that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann can put several demands of Punjab in front of the Prime Minister from this platform.
The area 2 kms from the venue of the ceremony has been completely sealed. The area has been made a no fly zone. Section 144 has been imposed in the entire area. Last time due to security lapse, this time around 7,000 jawans have been deployed on duty.
Apart from the police, officers of the Special Security Force are monitoring the security. SPG teams have reached Mohali. Three helipads have been built in front of the hospital for Prime Minister Modi. Electric poles have been removed from the surrounding areas. A road has been made by breaking the pavement around it. At present, the PM has a program to come back by helicopter. However, according to the security blue book, alternate routes have also been prepared by the administration.
