CNG & e-buses to run on different routes in Lucknow, survey begins

Lucknow, October 20: CNG and e-buses (electric) will run on different routes in the capital Lucknow. Hence, first phase of the survey has started.

City transport has started preparations to separate the routes of electric buses and CNG buses. In this, preparations are being made to run CNG on long routes from Lucknow and electric buses within the city. With this, daily commuters will get the facility of AC electric buses within the city at cheap fares.

At present, on the orders of the Divisional Commissioner, the survey has started for running city buses on new routes in the first phase. The final decision on the survey report will be taken by the Divisional Commissioner.

City Transport Assistant Regional Manager Manoj Sharma said on Thursday that new routes have been marked in the first phase. It has Charbagh to Mawaiya, Alambagh Police Station, Jail Road, Bangla Bazar, Telibagh, Utretia, Aurangabad, Bijnor to Chandawal. There is a preparation to run eight city buses on about 30 km route. At present 200 city buses are running in Lucknow. It has 140 electric and 60 CNG city buses. About 50 thousand people travel daily by these buses.
