Lucknow, 9 November: In a raid on Sansara Toll Plaza (Mahua Kala) Lucknow, located on Purvanchal Expressway, UP Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi during the surprise inspection found many loopholes. If the number of employees present was less than the standard and negligence in the attendance register, the minister directed the concerned agency to blacklist and take other action.
The number of toll booths on Purvanchal Expressway is 116. The responsibility of providing personnel for recovery has been entrusted with Coral Associates. Through this, a total of 1211 officers and employees are posted at all the toll booths.
According to the standard, 40 -50 employees should be posted in a shift at each booth, but at the toll booths of Purvanchal Expressway, the industrial development minister was getting complaints about the number of employees in each shift being much less than the standard.
Minister Nandi took this matter seriously. Recently, in the meeting of Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority, Industrial Development Minister Nandi had questioned the low attendance of employees posted at toll plazas.
On Tuesday night, after attending the closing ceremony of Shrimad Bhagwat Katha organized at Mohanpura Ghazipur, the ancestral residence of Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Nandi inspected the arrangement of the expressway while returning to Lucknow.
On reaching near toll plaza-1 Sansara (Mahua Kala) Lucknow, the minister suddenly ordered his convoy to stop for a surprise inspection and found only eight counters instead of 16.
After this he inspected the attendance register, which was not fully maintained, the presence of a large number of employees daily was found to be negligible. The total attendance of the employees posted at the toll plaza was found to be only 15. Industrial Development Minister instructed the officials concerned to cancel the license of the agency providing manpower as well as take action to blacklist the agency.
