Lucknow, 23 Nov: According to an official announcement, the Yogi Adityanath government would replicate the Indore solid waste management (SWM) model throughout the state’s municipal bodies to ensure cleaner, greener, and planned cities.
According to an official statement, a team from Uttar Pradesh reviewed the city’s approach last Saturday and Sunday while conducting a full inspection of the cleanliness model of Indore, regarded the cleanest city in the country.
During their two-day visit, the team also went to Trenching Ground, Asia’s largest Bio CNG factory. The tour was attended by 13 delegates from urban bodies in Mathura-Vrindavan, Jhansi, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Farrukhabad, Kushinagar, Ikdil Nagar, Moradabad, and Gorakhpur, including Neha Sharma, director of the Uttar Pradesh Swachh Bharat Mission.
On Saturday, the team went to the Bio CNG facility. On Sunday, the team members went to the control command centre. According to the official release, a presentation of cleaning measures implemented in the previous six years was made during the visit.
Uttar Pradesh officials were told of the spot penalties and waste collection expenses in Indore. On Sunday, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra also visited the Bio CNG facility at the trenching field. During his two-hour tour, he gained an understanding of the plant’s operation.
The municipal bodies in Uttar Pradesh have plans to prepare bio-CNG plants from 300 to 400 tonnes of wet trash.
The Chief Secretary also went to Rajwada’s Gopal Mandir. Adarsh Goyal, Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), and two other members toured the Bio-CNG facility with the Chief Secretary. Team Uttar Pradesh investigated all areas of Indore’s cleanliness in the field, spoke with people, and thoroughly grasped how things worked.
The Chief Secretary also thanked the DM and Municipal Commissioner of Indore for leading a tour of the Bio CNG facility and explaining how Indore works to ensure cleanliness.
