Lucknow, 29 November: Former mafia-turned MP Dhananjay Singh will campaign in favour of Samajwadi Party candidate Dimple Yadav in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-poll.
Janata Dal United has issued a letter of support in this regard. KC Tyagi has also reached Mainpuri along with former MP Dhananjay Singh. With the presence of Dhananjay in Mainpuri, the political equation of Purvanchal can also change.
The Janata Dal United has formed a government in Bihar with the Rashtriya Janata Dal after breaking ties with the BJP. State President of Janata Dal United Anup Singh Patel said in a letter issued that the party’s national general secretary, Dhananjay will hold a public meeting in support of Dimple.
It is believed that Samajwadi Party will field him in Thakur dominated area. In such a situation, the political equation of Purvanchal can also change.
It is to be noted that the Lucknow Police have also announced a reward of ?25,000 on Dhananjay, National General Secretary of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United, for conspiring to kill Azamgarh contractor Ajit Singh in January 2021.
Dhananjay Singh’s appearance in the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election is sure to change the political equation of Purvanchal because till now Dhananjay Singh Yadav was a staunch opponent of the Samajwadi Party in Purvanchal. He was the target of many senior leaders of the Samajwadi Party after being elected as an MP from the BSP.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Raghuraj Singh, MP from Etawah, against Dimple Yadav.
