Lucknow, 11 Dec: From December 12, the BJP will revamp its organisational network and host regional and district-level meetings as part of a vital exercise ahead of the forthcoming urban local bodies (ULB) elections.
The decision was made on Sunday at a meeting presided over by UP BJP chief Bhupendra Chaudhary at the party headquarters in Lucknow.
State general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh and party co-in-charge Satya Kumar were also present at the meeting, which emphasised the need of strengthening divisional units, booths, and ‘panna’ committees in preparation for the 2024 parliamentary elections. Singh specifically mentioned the party’s organisational gathering in Delhi a few days ago.
The UP BJP president stated that the candidates for the different ULB seats will be chosen together. The party would form a “screening committee” to analyse the names and “winnability” possibilities of the candidates. He stated that the party will seek support from all segments of society and communities.
