Varanasi, 18 December: Thirteen pilgrims from Maharashtra were seriously injured after a collision between a tourist bus and a truck on the National Highway in Varanasi. All injured have been admitted to BHU Trauma Center for treatment.
The police have taken damaged tourist bus and truck into custody. According to the police, the accident happened because the driver of the tourist bus fell asleep.
A total of 45 devotees from Ahmednagar in Maharashtra had come to Varanasi for darshan. The tourist bus with devotees from Gaya was returning to Varansi late Saturday night. The speeding bus collided with a truck parked on the roadside near Latubir Pulia on the highway.
Eight women, 4 men and bus conductor Dinanath, a resident of Amlori village of Bhadohi, were injured in the accident.
