Lucknow, 27 December: As cases of Covid continue to surge in many countries like China, Japan, Brazil, and South Korea, mock drills are being conducted at various hospitals of the state to assess preparedness in UP. Mock drills took place at Covid centers across Uttar Pradesh hospitals on Tuesday.
Deputy CM and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak reached Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow to review the health facilities during the mock drill. He spoke to the hospital officials and witnessed the preparations made for oxygen supply and ventilators.
Mock drill for Covid started in 11 hospitals in Varanasi. The mock drill started from Pandit Deen Dayal Hospital, Pandeypur. The entire team from the Health Department to the CMO is checking the arrangements for beds, medicines, ventilators, oxygen etc. after reaching here. The team stayed at the oxygen plant for a long time.
Apart from Deen Dayal Hospital, CHC Cholapur, Araziline, Narpatpur, Gangapur, Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Trauma Center, ESIC Hospital, Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital Lahartara, Central Hospital BLW and Heritage Institute of Medical Science Bhadwar will also have mock drills. Varanasi CMO Dr. Sandeep Kumar Chaudhary said that the deficiencies found in the mock drill would be rectified.
A mock drill was conducted at Noida’s Covid Care Hospital, District Hospital and Community Centers to deal with Corona. Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma told that health facilities are being reviewed during the mock drill.
After dedicating ICU ward made for Corona in Balrampur Hospital, Dy CM checked the oxygen flow himself. During this, the maintenance and working of all the equipment including ventilators were also tested. The oxygen plant installed in the hospital was also inspected thoroughly.
When Dy CM Pathak reached SSB block of Balrampur Hospital, he saw a patient named Banwari shivering with cold in front of hall number-311. Deputy CM took off his shirt and gave it to him. He instructed Dr. GP Gupta, Chief Medical Superintendent of the nearby hospital, to treat the patient properly.
The patient of Khurdahi Bazar was admitted about a week ago in Room 21-A of SSB Block after a minor operation. He had to be dressed. He was sitting there waiting. That’s why the Deputy CM met him and inquired about his condition.
?The defects found in the mock drill will be rectified within a week. Arrangements will be made in other hospitals also on the same basis. If deficiencies are found in the hospitals, there will be a mock drill again after a week. If the deficiencies remain for the second time, the reasons for the same will be investigated. Action will also be taken against those responsible,? said Dy CM.
He instructed all to be on their toes in the hospital regarding Corona. He said that the danger is not over, so don?t be slack in duty and get ready to face any serious situations. Instructions were also given to maintain the availability of medicines in the hospital.
