Lucknow, 30 December: The report card of year 2022 of the Yogi government, which is out, claims that in the year properties worth about Rs 2600 crores was either destroyed or confiscated by the police as per zero tolerance policy of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
UP police launched an all-out attack on the criminals due to which crime rate decreased as compared to the previous years. Police got 36 criminals hanged from the court for doing nasty acts with children and women.
While 1296 have been sentenced to life imprisonment and 4939 have been sentenced to 10 years. Not only this, 8 criminals who created fear were killed in an encounter. At the same time two mafias were given life imprisonment and two were hanged.
On the instructions of CM Yogi, the UP police registered more than 396 cases against 896 associates of the mafia gang and arrested more than 431 accused. Action was taken against 178 under Goonda Act, 884 under gangster and 13 under the POCSO Act.
Illegally earned property worth more than Rs 2600 crores of 62 mafia identified at the state level has been seized and demolished. At the same time, more than 310 arms licenses of the mafia and its gang associates were cancelled. Not only this, 83,721 cases have been registered against 16,158 top ten criminals at the police station level, Besides, illegally acquired property worth more than Rs 648 crore was also seized. Gangster acton was taken against 56491 criminals and Rasuka against 795 criminals.
Under the POCSO Act and crimes against women, 2273 criminals have been punished. According to the state government, the crime rate per one lakh population is 154.5, which is very less as compared to other states in the country. UP is at number 23 in terms of crime. At the same time, UP is at number 16 in total crime against women.

With the mutual coordination of UP Police, Prosecution and Government, most of the mafia and criminals in the whole country were punished by effective lobbying in the court. As a result of this, 36 mafia and their accomplices were given life imprisonment and two were hanged.
The court sentenced mafia Mafia Mukhtar thrice within three months. In which on September 21, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court sentenced jailer SK Awasthi in a case of threatening in the year 2003.
On September 23, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court sentenced him to five years in prison in a Gangster Act case registered in 1999. Not only this, on December 15, the MLA court of Ghazipur sentenced Mafia Mukhtar and his associate Bhim Singh to 10 years in five gangster cases.
Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) was formed for the first time to break the back of drug mafia and illegal drug dealers in the state. In the first phase, ANTF police stations were opened in two police stations Ghazipur and Barabanki and three regional branches Meerut, Lucknow and Gorakhpur zones have been established. In the campaign against the drug mafia which lasted from August 24 to September 8, the police identified 2833 suspected accused, took action against 2479 accused and registered 2277 cases. Police recovered Rs 39 crore 68 lakh from these accused.
In all 110 cases were registered against 358 accused under the Gangster Act and assets worth Rs 35 crore 14 lakh were seized. Along with this, 188 accused were punished by appearing in the court. On the other hand, the police registered 10,821 cases against 11,157 accused in the campaign against illegal and poisonous liquor and recovered more than Rs 11 crore 16 lakh. Apart from this, 101 cases have been registered against 319 accused under the Gangster Act.
164 criminals have been punished by appearing in the court. Illegal assets worth about Rs 20 crore have been seized under the Gangster Act. Action has been taken against 406 accused under the Excise Act.
