North 24 Parganas, 16 July: After the panchayat elections, the BJP has once again threatened to overthrow the Trinamool government in West Bengal. Before the panchayat elections, BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Suvendu Adhikari had predicted the collapse of the West Bengal government.

Now, the Central union Minister of State Shantanu Thakur has claimed to topple the government. Shantanu claimed, ”Their (Trinamool Congress) government will collapse in the next five months.”

On Saturday evening, the BJP organised a reception for the winning candidates in the panchayats of Gaighata Phulshara Panchpotay area of North 24 Parganas. Several BJP leaders including union Minister of State for Shipping Shantanu Thakur, BJP’s Bangaon Organisational District BJP President Rampad Das were present there.

Speaking at the reception, Shantanu Thakur said, “The ruling organised elections in the state within a month. The police and the commission remained inactive. It is not even talked about how TMC goons tortured BJP leaders and workers. We were to get ten times more votes than what we got in the panchayat elections. I hope, the honorable court will give a positive verdict in our favor and order re-election where the result is negative. We should have won at many places but we lost.”

The BJP MP from Bangaon further said, ”They (Trinamool) think they are eternal. No one is ever permanent. Their government will collapse in the next five months.”
