Ayodhya’s historic renaissance to be showcased through mega ‘Deepotsav’ exhibition
Ayodhya: As preparations gather pace for the tenth edition of Deepotsav under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a special exhibition at Ram Katha Park is set to become one of the major attractions of the grand celebrations. Organized by the Culture Department, the exhibition will present a comprehensive journey of Ayodhya’s historical, religious, cultural and developmental transformation from 1500 AD to the present day.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also scheduled to visit the exhibition, which aims to provide devotees, tourists and visitors with a detailed understanding of Ramnagari’s rich heritage and its evolution over the centuries.
The exhibition will prominently highlight the history of the Shri Ram Temple movement and the key events associated with it. Through specially designed dramatic performances, visitors will get an opportunity to learn about the contributions of leaders who played important roles in the movement. Various phases of the temple movement, significant milestones, and the long journey leading to the construction of the grand Shri Ram Temple will be showcased in a sequential and engaging manner.
Officials said the exhibition has been planned to portray important historical developments in chronological order, enabling visitors to understand Ayodhya’s religious significance alongside the events that shaped the temple movement. The dramatic presentations are expected to make the historical narrative more engaging, especially for younger audiences and tourists visiting the city during Deepotsav.
A major section of the exhibition will focus on the construction of the Shri Ram Temple and the development of the temple complex. Visitors will be able to view the transformation of the sacred city from a historical pilgrimage destination into a rapidly developing religious and cultural hub. The exhibition will also showcase the expansion of Ayodhya’s infrastructure, including improvements in roads, tourism facilities, public amenities, transportation networks and urban development projects undertaken in recent years.
According to organizers, the objective is not only to highlight Ayodhya’s historical and cultural heritage but also to demonstrate how the city has embraced modern development while preserving its spiritual identity. Through visual displays, presentations and performances, visitors will witness the changing face of Ayodhya and the efforts made to transform it into a world-class religious tourism destination.
The exhibition is expected to play a significant role in connecting the younger generation with India’s cultural roots and heritage. Devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad will gain insight into the history of Ramnagari, the Ram Temple movement and the city’s remarkable development journey through an immersive experience at Ram Katha Park.
Ashutosh Dwivedi, Advisor and Special Officer of the Ayodhya International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute, said the exhibition has been conceived to present Ayodhya’s entire historical journey at one place during the tenth Deepotsav. He said the effort is aimed at showcasing every important chapter, from the Shri Ram Temple movement and construction of the temple complex to the modern transformation of the city, while introducing visitors from India and around the world to the unique history and development story of Ayodhya.
