Ayodhya, 10 Aug: The Ram Path, a newly formed path leading to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, is shaping up to be the state’s most picturesque stretch of road, with the UP government constructing it as a 560-metre historical walk. The Ram Mandir will be reached through one of three roads.
According to those involved in the project, the road would be adorned with art pieces and murals representing significant scenes from the Ramayana. “The Ram Path would be developed into a Shri Ram heritage walk. It would be the most beautiful length, with high-quality murals installed at roughly 100 points along the path,” stated Gaurav Dayal, Divisional Commissioner, Ayodhya.
“The UP Government is in contact with various mural artists who will carve out life-size murals made of iron, bronze, and other metals,” stated a senior government official. He went on to say that one of the paintings will vividly tell the account of Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman meeting Shabri and tasting the sweets she served them. Another painting is said to depict Ravana’s defeat at the hands of Lord Ram.
Dayal, the divisional commissioner stated that around 100 similar paintings will be erected along the 560-metre span. “In addition to the murals, there will be wall paintings and other forms of art. For this reason, expert agencies have been recruited.”
He also stated that the public walkway or path will be of world-class quality and would include tourist facilities. “Whether it’s illumination, green cover, footpaths, attractive benches, or the planting of floral plants along the stretch, all of this work will be done to make the stretch one of the most beautiful in Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
The Ram Path was recently opened to the public, replacing the traditional path chosen by devotees, who claim that the old road from Hanumangarhi Temple through Dashratmahal, Ram Kachaehri Temple, and Rangmahal Barrier was a “historical route” related with Ayodhya.
The new road begins in Birla Dharamshala and was built at a cost of Rs 39 crore. The Ram Mandir is expected to open to worshippers on January 24, 2020, following the dedication of the Ram Lalla idol, which will be a 10-day rite beginning January 14. According to reports, the ground level of the three-story temple has been finished.
