Lucknow, 18 August: Rishabh Singh, a native of Pratapgarh district, shot dead a woman named Riya Gupta at Paradise Apartment in Lucknow. Both lived in a live-in relationship in the flat located on the second floor of the C block of the apartment. After the incident, Rishabh reached the Sushant Golf City police station and surrendered to the police, the police said.
According to Atul Srivastava, Inspector in-charge of Sushant Golf City, the husband of the deceased woman Riya Gupta has died and she lived with her baby girl in Paradise Apartment. She met Rishabh at a public place. Since then both of them started living in live-in. After a dispute, Rishabh shot Riya twice using an illegal weapon.
He told that one bullet was in the head and the other bullet was in the chest of the woman. After the surrender of Rishabh, further action is being taken by registering a case. At the same time, the body of the deceased woman has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem. The forensic team is also collecting evidence on the spot.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Southern Vineet Jaiswal said that Sushant Golf City police station is taking action in relation to the incident of the woman being shot dead. Information is being collected from the family members of the deceased woman. The past history of the incident youth and the deceased woman is being probed. Advance action is being taken by registering a case in Sushant Golf City police station on the complain of the family of the deceased woman.
