“I arrived in Angola on July 12 and was assigned to work in a warehouse in Luanda. I was requested to verify the inventory of many medications. However, the complete vocabulary and names were written in Portuguese. I was threatened with dire consequences when I expressed my inability to work,” Mishra alleged.

Mishra said in his plea to SP Rae Bareli that he was held captive for refusing to work and was threatened with being sold to Chinese clientele.

“I was terrified. They had confiscated my visa and passport, thrown me in a prison, and shut down all amenities, including food. I became ill and demanded fresh air and a cigarette,” Mishra explained.

“I was taken to an open area, from which I escaped and ran outside. Following that, I sought assistance from Indian locals in Angola in contacting the Indian embassy and obtaining a duplicate passport,” Mishra explained.
