Saharanpur, 24 Aug: According to authorities, a tractor-trolley crashed into a drain in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur area, killing nine persons, including four children. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered his condolences for the fatalities and requested that the Saharanpur government promptly award Rs 4 lakh apiece to the deceased’ family, according to an official statement.
According to senior police officer Abhimanyu Manglik, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening in the Tajpura region as a tractor carrying roughly 50 devotees was on its way to Randaul hamlet for a religious function. Police discovered four remains from the sewer on Wednesday.
Sulochana, 58, Manglesh, 50, and Aditi and Arjun, all ages five and twelve, were identified as the fatalities. Five victims discovered on Thursday have yet to be identified, according to Manglik. A powerful current in the river carried away several persons. The search for one missing individual is still ongoing, according to the SP.
Dr Dinesh Chand, District Magistrate of Saharanpur, and SSP Dr Vipin Tada paid a visit to the site. According to Vipin Tada, the villagers were warned not to travel the road, but the driver ignored the caution. An excavating equipment has been sent in to aid with the rescue efforts, according to the SSP.
