New Delhi, 03 September: After hosting the G-20 this year, India will hand over the summit for next year to Brazil. With this program to be held on December 1, the series of ‘G-20 Think’ will end. This will be a significant achievement for India in leading the G-20, which has seen many unique achievements globally.

The international round of G-20 Think will see representation of young and bright minds from across the globe.

According to the Ministry of Defence, to celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the Indian Navy had converted the inter-school quiz competitions held in various fields into a national level school quiz competition ‘The Indian Navy Quiz’ (Think). It became an international event for India when it took over the presidency of the G-20 this year, hence the name was changed to ‘G-20 Think’.

The competition was organized by the Navy in partnership with the Naval Welfare and Well-being Association (NWWA) under the aegis of the G-20 Secretariat. Later its two levels were made national and international.

The website www.theIndiannavyquiz.in was set up for G-20 Think, through which more than 11,700 schools studying in classes IX to XII registered for the national round of G-20 Think.

This will be followed by two online elimination rounds on 12 September and 3 October. This will be followed by the online quarter-finals on 10th October, where 16 teams ie four schools from each zone will qualify for the semi-final round.

The national level semi-finals will be held on 17th November at NCPA Auditorium, Mumbai. The top 8 teams emerging from this will compete in the National Final Round on November 18 at the Gateway of India, Mumbai.

Upon completion of the National Round, the two best quizzers from among all the finalists will be selected to represent ‘Team India’ in the International Round. The international round of G-20 Think will see representation from young and talented minds from across the world.

Teams from G-20 countries and special invitees from 9 other countries will participate in this round. Each team will consist of two students. National and international participants will get an opportunity to experience the diverse heritage and culture of India.

All of them will be taken to various popular tourist destinations and iconic places in the country. The international level final will be held in New Delhi on 22 November.

After national and international level competitions, the series of ‘G-20 Think’ will conclude with an event to be held in New Delhi on December 1. On the same day, India will hand over the command of the next G-20 summit to Brazil.

In fact, Quiz G-20 Think was conceptualized to bring together youth from different geographical regions and enable them to build lasting friendships in the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’.
