Mumbai, 26 September: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s eight-day foreign tour has been suddenly cancelled. This has sparked heated discussion in political circles.

The opposition had already termed the Chief Minister’s foreign tour as a waste of money and described it as a ‘holiday tour’.

Chief Minister Shinde was scheduled to visit Germany and Britain from October 1 to October 8. The visit was planned to inspect modern road technology in Germany and discuss investment in Britain, but the government today made it clear that the visit has been cancelled.

Administration sources have said that this decision has been taken for the time being, but a plan will be made again for the Chief Minister’s visit after a few days.

It is being told that at present Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar is starting the hearing of the disqualification case of Shiv Sena MLAs. Keeping this in mind, CM Shinde’s visit has been suddenly cancelled.
