Lucknow, 28 September: Abdul Samad alias Saddam, who was absconding in the Umesh Pal murder case of Prayagraj, was arrested by the Bareilly unit of UP STF from Malviya Nagar, Delhi.
Saddam is the brother-in-law of mafia Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf.
According to UP STF, there was a reward of Rs 1 lakh on Saddam. Saddam son Mansoor Ahmed is a resident of village Hatwa Uparhar in Prayagraj district. Information can also be found about Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen, who is absconding after Saddam’s arrest.
It is noteworthy that the mafias Atiq and Ashraf arrested in this case were killed in an attack in Prayagraj on April 15.
The team under the leadership of UP STF DSP Abdul Qadir was camping in Delhi for months. After this Saddam was arrested.
At present, the STF has taken him to Bithri Chainpur police station in Bareilly. He will be produced in the court and taken on remand.
