New Delhi, 21 October: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that there has been a 65 percent reduction in terrorist attacks, extremism and Naxalite attacks in the country. A severe blow has been dealt to such traitors who spread violence.
While admiring the police, he said the country’s police has played an important role in this.
He said this at a program organized at the National Police Memorial on the occasion of Police Memorial Day in Delhi on Saturday.
He said that we pay tribute to the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives since independence in every corner of the country and on the borders. He pays tribute to them all on behalf of a grateful nation.
Shah told the families of all the martyrs that today the country is moving forward in the world. Its foundation lies in the supreme sacrifice of your family members. The nation can never forget this.
Shah said that whether it is the security of the country’s borders or internal security, it is not possible without a vigilant police system. If anyone’s duty is the most difficult among all the government employees, it is that of the police personnel. Be it summer, winter or any festival, he remains on duty to ensure the smooth running of the country.
Home Minister Shah said that whether it is to fight terrorists, prevent crime, maintain law and order in front of a huge crowd or protect the common citizen by becoming a shield in disasters, the police personnel of our country have done their best on all occasions. Their contribution can never be forgotten.
Apart from Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, other top police officers were also present in this program.
It is noteworthy that on October 21, 1959, 10 brave police personnel sacrificed their lives in an ambush by an armed Chinese contingent in the Hot Spring area of Ladakh. Police Memorial Day is celebrated on 21st October in the memory of these martyrs and all other policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Honoring this sacrifice and the excellent role of the police in maintaining national security and unity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has celebrated Police Memorial Day, On the occasion of 2018, the National Police Memorial located at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi was dedicated to the nation.
