Lucknow: UP people to be able to access family ID on DigiLocker

Lucknow, 26 October: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is focusing on connecting its various schemes with digital technology. Under this, the government has made its ambitious scheme ‘Family ID: One Family One Identity’ live on DigiLocker.

This means that now the citizens of the state will be able to access their family ID on DigiLocker also.

All those people in the state who have been registered for Family ID will be able to access their Family ID by visiting DigiLocker through desktop or mobile phone.

It is noteworthy that the objective of Family ID is to provide better coverage of schemes through identification of eligible beneficiaries in unused schemes, removal of duplicate and fake beneficiaries and simplification of application to schemes for citizens by reducing the burden of proof.

Complete data of the beneficiary and his family will be available

In the presentation regarding Family ID made before Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, information was given about making Family ID live on DigiLocker. It was told that for the convenience of the citizens of the state, Family ID digital card has been made available on DigiLocker. Complete data of the beneficiary and his family will be available in this card.

Along with this, it was also told that the family e-passbook is ready for all the families across the state to avail various schemes and their benefits. Family e-Passbook has been developed to improve visibility and awareness. This will help eligible beneficiaries find potential schemes. Family ID will be logged in by entering the Aadhaar number, after which the home screen will appear.

After this you will be able to access important things like family details, scheme ledger, benefit ledger. Not only this, you will also be able to find possible plans for your family member or yourself here. Besides, complete information about the schemes will also be available in it.

Family ID will act as a consolidated database

Family ID will act as a consolidated database to unlock proactive scheme delivery. Under this, benefits of Basic and Secondary, Higher and Technical and Skilling and Vocational schemes under education and skilling can be availed.

Similarly, under Social Welfare and Empowerment, it can be used in schemes related to agriculture and ration, pension and scholarship and medical health. It will also be helpful in employment opportunities, credit linkage and social security under Employment and Microfinance.

According to a state government spokesperson, 4.8 crore beneficiaries have been mapped in the Family ID database across 42 schemes and services from 13 departments. Not only this, beneficiary data of four schemes of the Government of India was linked to it.

The spokesperson further said potential new beneficiaries have been identified in four different analytics use cases. Among the beneficiaries of this scheme, 3.61 crore ration card holder families are already part of the NFSA database. Their ration card number is their family ID. At the same time, a provision has been made for non-ration card holder families to enroll under Family ID. Under this, 1.42 lakh applications were received, out of which 55 thousand family IDs have been created.

What is DigiLocker?

Government spokesperson said that DigiLocker is an initiative of Digital India, in which we can keep soft copies of our important documents. Your documents appear as links in DigiLocker. If you want to take advantage of any scheme, then instead of hard copy of the documents, you can give a link there, so that your documents can be checked easily.

He informed that the applicant who will be linked to Aadhaar gets a personal storage space of 10 MB in which the documents are saved in the form of URL links. To access these documents, you will have to login with user ID and password, after which you will be able to easily view your documents in the form of links. Before saving documents in DigiLocker, an account has to be created in it.
