Lucknow, 29 Oct: Defence Minister and Lucknow MP Rajnath Singh stated on Sunday that the Sikh community has done a lot to safeguard ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and that their effort would never be forgotten by any Indian.
Singh made the remarks while speaking at the Alambagh Gurudwara in Lucknow on Guru Granth Sahib Prakash Utsav. “The Sikh community has contributed significantly to the preservation of Sanatan Dharma. No Indian can forget their contribution to Ram Janmabhoomi,” Singh added.
“I wanted to share an important fact from the government record,” he stated. According to a FIR, on December 1, 1858, a mob of Sikhs raising Guru Govind Singh slogans captured the premises and inscribed ‘Ram Ram’ all over the walls.” “The Ram Janmbhoomi Andolan was started by the Sikhs,” he said.
According to Singh, everyone today talks about their rights but not about their responsibilities. “If there is a community whose proportion of people who gave their life for the country and their percentage in the Army is higher than their population percentage, it is the Sikh community,” he concluded.
