New Delhi, Sept.12 : More than 2,700 gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be put up for auction. Culture Minister Prahlad Patel said that more than 2,700 gifts received by the Prime Minister will be auctioned and the auction will begin on September 14.
Patel said that a total of 2,772 gifts
received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be auctioned online. He said that
the minimum bid for these gifts has been kept at Rs 200 and the maximum bid is
Rs 2.5 lakh.
The price of the memento is between Rs 100 and Rs 30,000. Gifts can be searched on the website on the basis of price. The category of gifts has been made on the basis of brass, ceramic, cloth, glass, gold, metal materials etc.
There is also a statue of Radha-Krishna in the auction, on which gold is used . Its base price has been kept at Rs 20,000. Mandvi Municipality in Surat presented this 4.76 kg statue to the Prime Minister.
In January this year, more than 1800 gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were sold through online auctions. Patel said that all the gifts were auctioned in the 15-day auction in January. The Minister said that the money received from this auction was donated to the Namami Gange project under the Clean Ganga Campaign of the Central Government.
There is also a silver plate of 2.22 kg in the most expensive memento in the transferred list, which costs Rs 30,000. Former BJP MP C Narasimhan gave this gift to the Prime Minister. Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma had earlier said that 1900 gifts received by the Prime Minister at home and abroad will be put in auction.
