Varanasi, 16 November: The scientific survey of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Gyanvapi complex will be completed on Thursday. The ASI team will submit the prepared survey report in the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishwesh on Friday in the presence of its advocate.
It is revealed during the survey that 250 ancient remains found in the survey which lasted for more than 100 days have been deposited in the locker of the treasury located in the Collectorate premises under the supervision of the District Magistrate.
The ASI team has also prepared the study report of the survey. This report will be filed in the court of the District Judge in a sealed envelope.
It is noteworthy that on July 21, the court of District Judge Ajay Krishna Vishwesh had ordered to conduct ASI survey of the rest of the premises except the sealed warehouse of Gyanvapi.
On the instructions of the court, on July 24, the ASI team started scientific survey in the Gyanvapi complex. After this, in protest against the order of the District Court, the defendant Anjuman Anjamiya Masjid Committee approached the country’s highest court, the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition, had put a stay on the ASI survey. Then, after receiving orders from the Supreme Court and Allahabad High Court, a 40-member team of ASI again started the survey in the Gyanvapi complex from August 4.
The Archaeological Survey of India team conducted the survey with the help of state-of-the-art equipment including Ground Penetration Radar System (GPRS) and traditional techniques and prepared a detailed report by measuring the structure of the Gyanvapi complex and its basements, including the dome and the top.
ASI experts from Hyderabad and Kanpur also gave full cooperation in this. Earlier, during the hearing on September 14, the District Court had ordered the ASI and the district administration to secure and preserve whatever facts are found during the survey.
