Lucknow, 17 Nov: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to make all necessary arrangements to organize the upcoming Chhath festival as a standard festival of ‘cleanliness and safety’.
In an important meeting on Friday, the Chief Minister said that special efforts should be made by the Urban Development and Panchayati Raj Department to ensure a clean environment in the entire state during the puja/rituals on the occasion of Chhath festival. With due respect to people’s faith, it should be ensured that rivers/reservoirs are not polluted. Make people aware not to use single use plastic.
Yogi stated that the movement of devotees/vratis starts from 1-2 am to offer Arghya to the rising sun, in such a situation, proper lighting arrangements should be made everywhere. River/reservoir ghats should be cleaned and traffic management should also be done.
While reviewing the preparations with Urban Development Minister, Mayor Lucknow, Agricultural Production Commissioner, SDG Law and Order, Principal Secretary Urban Development, Police Commissioner, District Magistrate and Municipal Commissioner Lucknow, CM Yogi said that in view of cleanliness in the state during Chhath, ‘Swachh Ghat’ ‘Competition should also be organised. There is a tradition of fireworks on the festival, so keep in mind that fireworks should not be set off amidst the crowd. For security reasons, policemen in plain clothes should also be deployed. There should be uninterrupted supply of electricity on this occasion.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the daily cleanliness system of Lucknow and directed that the capital should be kept clean as per its dignity. The cleaning workers should be paid on time. The way the entire metropolis was decorated during the G-20 and GIS; there is a need to give it a permanent shape. All the entry points of the capital should be decorated.
Emphasizing on traffic management in the cities, the Chief Minister while giving instructions to decide the routes for e-rickshaws and three wheelers, said that it should be ensured that no minor child drives an e-rickshaw anywhere. Illegal taxi stands should not be allowed to operate under any circumstances.
While reviewing the Safe City project, he said that CCTV cameras should be installed at maximum places in Lucknow as soon as possible. Entrepreneurs, banking institutions, businessmen and even common people are installing CCTVs, they should be used properly.
He said that the capital’s lifeline ‘Shaheed Path’ should be covered with CCTV.
