Lucknow, 23 Nov: As the temperature drops, the Uttar Pradesh administration, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has begun planning to deal with potential cold wave conditions and give protection to the impoverished, helpless, and vulnerable.
In this regard, the state government has allotted โน 120 crore to the Relief Department in order to provide them with temporary housing, food, clothes, and medical care.
In this regard, the first tranche of roughly โน 20 crore has already been issued to all District Magistrates on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to deal with the cold wave and its impact on people.
When the first installment was released, the Yogi Government directed all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to develop solid plans to protect citizens. The chief minister made it plain to authorities that the blankets supplied to the underprivileged during the cold spell must be of excellent quality.
GS Naveen, the state’s relief commissioner, declared that CM Yogi stands with every weak section of the state and that the administration is devoted to safeguarding the defenseless and helpless from any calamity.
Following the CM’s instructions, the first installment of ?17,55,00,000 has been distributed to 351 tehsils for blanket procurement, along with โน 1,75,50,000 for other relief goods. The department has released the first installment in the amount of ?19.3 crore. He went on to say that the biggest sum, ?38.5 lakh, was given to Ghazipur, Bulandshahr, Gorakhpur, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri.
All Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates have also been given the necessary orders to cope with the cold.
District Magistrates, Additional District Magistrates, Chief Development Officers, Sub-District Magistrates, and Tehsildars have been asked to visit their respective districts in order to identify those who are vulnerable, helpless, or weak due to the cold. They have also been asked to guarantee that no one in the state dies as a result of the excessive cold. All Nagar Panchayats, Nagar Palikas, Municipal Corporations, and public venues in rural regions are encouraged to light bonfires as needed.
Furthermore, in metropolitan areas, particularly along important highways and accident-prone regions under city control, white thermoplastic paint has been advised to delineate lanes, coupled with the installation of reflectors, solar cat signs, and other safety devices.
In order to avoid accidents under hazy circumstances, safety measures will be taken in advance. Officials have been asked to undertake a campaign in rural and urban regions to affix yellow strips to the back of tractor trailers used in agricultural operations to reduce fog-related accidents.
Officials have also been directed to create rain shelters and shelter houses in all Municipal Corporations, Municipalities, and Nagar Panchayats, as well as publicly post the names and phone numbers of its administrators. Furthermore, top district authorities have been directed to perform surprise inspections at night.
