Lucknow, 04 December: A traffic police constable was hit by a speeding car while performing his duty in Krishnanagar police station area on Sunday night. He was seriously injured in the accident.
The police admitted the injured to the hospital and after a few hours of the accident arrested the absconding car driver.
DCP South Vineet Jaiswal said on Monday that on Sunday night, traffic constable Amit Kumar was doing duty with alertness at Bara Birwa intersection in Krishna Nagar police station area. Meanwhile, a car coming at high speed from the opposite direction hit the constable and injured him. The police also tried to catch the car but the driver managed to escape with the car.
The police of Krishnanagar police station admitted the injured to the hospital and started searching the car with the help of CCTV footage. Driver Abhishek Das has been arrested on Monday morning. He works in a private firm. Legal action is being taken against him by registering a case under relevant sections in the police station.
