New Delhi, 08 December: The Sun Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (SUIT) aboard the Sun Mission Aditya L-1 spacecraft of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has captured the first full-disk images of the Sun.
the SUIT has captured images of the Sun’s photosphere i.e. outer layer and chromosphere i.e. middle layer using various scientific filters.
While sharing pictures on Twitter on Friday, ISRO said that the SUIT payload of Aditya L-1 was launched on November 20. The telescope carrying this payload took the first optical images of the Sun with 11 different filters on December 6. These are being studied in the observatory.
