Sultanpur, 30 Dec: Four Kashmiris, including a woman, were held for questioning by police in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur area on Saturday as ”part of a vigil” after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to neighboring Ayodhya.
Sri Ram Pandey, Station House Officer (SHO) of Kotwali police station, said they were detained from a hotel Friday night. ”The action was conducted as part of a vigil held in the aftermath of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Ayodhya today (Saturday),” he explained.
According to the SHO, all four were questioned, and their identification cards and other paperwork were reviewed. They said they work in a madrassa and came to Barbanki to collect contributions. They have also said that they go to other regions of the nation over the winter for this purpose,” the SHO informed, adding that they will be freed following basic questioning.
