Oil marketing companies (OMCs) gave some relief to customers in the festive season after three days and again on Tuesday. OMCs have cut the price per liter of petrol and diesel by 5 paise. Oil companies decide the price of petrol and diesel in the domestic market on the basis of the prices of crude oil in the international market.
According to the website of Indian Oil, petrol is available in the capital Delhi for Rs 73.27 and diesel for Rs 66.41 per liter. Petrol in Mumbai has been increased to Rs 78.88 per liter and diesel to Rs 69.61 per liter. Petrol is available in Kolkata at Rs 75.92 and diesel at Rs 68.77 per liter. After the fall in petrol price in Chennai, the price of diesel has been increased to Rs 76.09 per liter and the price of diesel to Rs 70.15 per liter.
