Mumbai, 31 December: A rave party was raided in Gaymukh of Ghodbunder area of โโThane district and 95 youths including five women were taken into custody on Sunday, police said.
According to the police, police have recovered a huge quantity of narcotics.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the government will take strong and strict action against the drug mafia.
According to the police, the police had received information about a rave party in Gaimukh area. An entry fee of Rs 1,000 each was charged for this party through Facebook and Instagram. Youth aged between 19 to 20 years were included in this party. They consumed drugs and alcohol and also played loud music. Police raided on Sunday and seized 200 grams of ganja, 70 grams of hashish, 0.40 grams of LSD and ecstasy pills.
Additional Commissioner of Crime Investigation Department, Punjabrao Ugle said that we have detained 90 men and 5 women. Their medical examination will be conducted and further action will be taken after the report comes. The detained youths are residents of Thane, Mira Road, Palghar, Kalyan, Dombivali and Navi Mumbai.
The Chief Minister has also directed the police to intensify the campaign against drugs to make Maharashtra drug free.
