New Delhi, October 17: In a judgment, the transfer of Justice Rakesh Kumar, judge of Patna High Court, who has made a strong comment on corruption in the judiciary, has been recommended. The Supreme Court Collegium has sent a recommendation to the Central Government to transfer him to the Andhra Pradesh High Court as a judge. Following the decision of Justice Rakesh Kumar, Justice AP Shahi, Chief Justice of Patna High Court, withdrew his judicial work from him.
Patna High Court Chief Justice AP Shahi is also among the three high courts recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for transfer. The collegium has recommended transfer of Justice AP Shahi as Chief Justice of Madras High Court. The collegium has recommended transfer of Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice AK Mittal as Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Chief Justice of Tripura High Court as Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the promotion of two High Court judges as Chief Justice in the second High Court. The collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Mohammad Rafique of Rajasthan High Court of Meghalaya High Court while Dr. Ravi Ranjan, Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, is appointed as Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.
The collegium has recommended the appointment of six judges in three high courts. The collegium has recommended the appointment of judicial officer Vanlura Dingdoh as a judge of the Meghalaya High Court. The collegium has recommended the appointment of two lawyers as judges for the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. The lawyers recommended to be appointed as judges of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court include Moksha Kazmi and Rajneesh Oswal. The Collegium recommended those appointed as judges for the Guwahati High Court include Shaumitra Saikia, Parthiv Jyoti Saikia and S Hukato Su.
The collegium has re-confirmed the name of P. Krishna Bhat, appointed as judge of the Karnataka High Court. The collegium had recommended his name twice before but his name was returned by the central government. Now the collegium has recommended the appointment of P. Krishna Bhat soon.
