New Delhi, January 4: Indigo, providing cheap aviation services, has announced it will stop charging fuel duty after the reduction in the price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF). This step by the airline has increased expectations of ticket prices being reduced and air travel becoming cheaper.

IndiGo has stopped charging fuel charges on tickets as of January 4, 2024, the company said in a statement issued on Thursday. According to the airline, the fuel duty has been withdrawn due to the recent reduction in the price of ATF. This fuel charge on the ticket was applicable on domestic and international flights of the airline.

Indigo has said that the price of ATF continues to fluctuate. We will therefore continue to adjust our fares and their components to respond to any changes in prices or market conditions.

It is noteworthy that the airline started charging fuel duty at the beginning of October 2023, after the increase in the price of ATF.
