New Delhi, 04 January: Five hundred women sarpanches and panchayat members of the country will be familiar with the functioning of the new Parliament building on Friday.
Under the National Commission for Women’s initiative ‘She the Change Maker’, a special training program has been organised for 500 women selected from 21 states of the country, in the first session of which Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be present.
National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma said that the ‘She the Change Maker’ program was started to ensure the participation of women in the Parliament and Legislative Assembly in the year 2029. Since 2021, 5397 women from 23 states and union territories have been trained under 161 programmes.
She informed that 500 women in the Panchayat to Parliament program are set to visit Parliament on Friday, where they will participate in various awareness programs and interact with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Rekha Sharma said that it is the endeavor of the National Commission for Women that not only should women be made aware of their rights, but they should also be able to fulfill the responsibilities given to them due to their ability in a better way and they should be able to pursue their own path.
