New Delhi, 9 January: Just days after reducing fuel charges, IndiGo has made the decision to increase fees for passengers who want extra legroom in the front row of their aircraft.

According to the airline’s website, those who choose a window or aisle seat in the front row of an A321 aircraft, which typically holds 222 seats, will now have to pay a fee of ?2,000.

A slightly lower fee of ?1,500 will be charged for an aisle seat in the same row. Meanwhile, all seat types in the second and third rows will have a flat rate of โ‚น 400.

IndiGo has clarified that passengers who do not wish to purchase a preferred seat can still choose any free seat or be assigned one at no additional cost during airport check-in.

These new charges will apply to all A321 planes with 232 seats and A320 aircraft with 180 seats, as stated on the airline’s official website. As of now, there has been no response from IndiGo regarding this change.
